Cindy's Erasmoos Journey
Cordoba

When I have decided to fly high, I told God, "I am ready to face the challenges, may Your will be done unto me", and here I am, starting a new chapter of my life...

Once again, I'm delighted to start the first post. I had started numerous blogs, and only my blogger blog is open to public now (click here to my Blogger blog). I found this webpage because Erasmoos found me first on Twitter...
I just got back from Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, this afternoon. Finally, I got my student visa from the Embassy of Spain in Malaysia, and in another three weeks, I am bidding farewell to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah - the city where I have been living for the past nine years. I know I definitely will miss everything here... but like my description, when I told God: "I am ready, take me to where You want me to go", there is no turning back.
I have always liked what I studied during my Bachelor degree - Biotechnology. I have a friend, an Erasmus scholar who shared with me her experience as a JEMES scholar. For years, I contemplated on applying, and finally last year, I clicked on "download" on the Erasmus Mundus Masters in Forensic Science website. Initially, I was only on the reserve list, so again, I let go despite being disappointed, and told God that I'm okay to go anywhere else, even if it means returning to Korea to further my masters by research. A month later, I was informed that there was a vacancy and they would like to offer it to me. And the rest is history...
There had been countless struggles which caused me to ponder if I made the right decision, but something deep inside me told me that this is the stage where I'm being prepared to face the challenges outside my comfort zone... If I give up, I will end up with nothing. So there is no reason to give up, because failure and giving up have the same outcome - "ending up with nothing". So I pushed on, despite the red tapes I experienced in the country now.
Jeremiah 29:11 - 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'
So, here I am, ready to fly off next month, and class will start early September in Cordoba. Whatever it may come, I will trust that God who leads me out of slavery will provide me with manna to survive out there... It means that He who created the miracle for me to go to Europe, will make it possible for me to do well in the plans He has for me.
Now I'm finally getting excited about the program I shall be facing for the next two years... Forensic Biology knowledge to absorb... Three cities to stay, numerous others to explore. First stop is Cordoba, then Lisbon, next Lincoln. I leave it open about my final semester, depends on the project...
God bless.
