Los Sami componen una cultura, un pueblo que vive en Laponia desde tiempos inmemoriales. No gustan que se les llame "lapones", porque tiene un sentido peyorativo. En Laponia sueca he podido compartir su vida en un poblado sami, y pasar una noche en una "gahtie" o cabaña familiar tradicional. Construidas de maderas de abedules, pueden ser pequeñas con techo a 4 aguas para familias de hasta 5...
